Benefits for Medicare Advantage are Expanding in 2020

According to AARP: For the second year in a row, Medicare Advantage (MA) plans will be able to increase their benefits, including home meal deliveries, transportation, and some housecleaning.

Under the new policies, MA plans in 2020 can cover a broad range of supplemental benefits that aren’t typically considered health needs but, have a reasonable expectation of improving the health or overall function of Medicare enrollees.

Last year, MA plans were given the authority to cover such items as shower grips and wheelchair ramps to those who needed them because they had fallen or had other mobility issues.

SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE

With a Medicare Supplement, Medicare is still your primary insurance, but the supplement plan fills in the gaps of Medicare by paying your deductibles and coinsurance so that you don’t have copays (except with certain plans). These plans also allow you to go to any provider that accepts Medicare nationwide. A complete Outline of Coverage options is available upon request.
